Peanut Butter Porridge

A new take on an old favourite with a super tasty boost of protein

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup milk I use the Complete Dairy high protein low fat milk
  • 1/2 small banana chopped
  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 1 tsp honey optional

Instructions

  • Bring milk to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir in oats and a pinch of salt. Bring to the boil the reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring with a wooden spoon, for 5 minutes or until porridge thickens.
  • Stir through the peanut butter. Transfer to a bowl and top with the banana and honey if using.

Notes

  • If you are cooking for others, double the serve size for a non-bariatric serve.
  • If you want a faster option, use a plain quick oat sachet, cook as per instructions, then stir through the peanut butter.
  • To make this suitable for the puree phase, blend after cooking.
